False ceiling

The ceiling, together with its surface, is an element present in every apartment, regardless of its function and use. This upper zone of the interior plays an import ant role, especially as it is directly connected with the lighting system. The light, which is an inseparable element of the interior and our everyday life, affects the surroundings from the height in a natural way.

Properly shaped form of the ceiling introduces play of light inside, enables to enrich the inside in an artistic way, disturbs the monotony, exerting a positive influence on the users. Within the complex structure of the building, the ceiling forms the lower part of the roof, timbered and covered with layers of plaster. Sometimes this surface is divided by construction elements in the form of beams. With arbitrary development of the usable area, it is hard to hide visible fragments of electric, waterworks, air conditioning and other installations.

The use of false ceiling makes it possible to hide everything that is unsightly and simultaneously gives almost unlimited possibilities to shape the architecture of the interior. Introducing false ceiling changes the visual reception of the inside, enables to shape the space optically. By using certain solutions we may not only lower a room, which is too high, but also make the impression that a low room is optically heightened. It is enough to take a smooth and reflecting surface of the ceiling, direct the side light up towards the panel in order to obtain an impression of spacious room in a low and narrow place. False ceilings shaped slantways or twining softly inside on several levels also make the space seem larger. The best result will be obtained by emphasizing the ceiling line with a series of small, visible point lights or with light hidden between ceiling levels. Individual surfaces become more distinct due to medial light, namely reflected light. They softly create a composition of chiaroscuro and eliminate contrasts. If the interior in which we plan to suspend a false ceiling is too narrow and too long, these proportions may be corrected with corms of cross stripes and enlightening the longer walls.

Shapes of the false ceilings should remain in harmony with the interior, the profile of walls, layout of furniture, colour and material divisions on the floor, and most of all they should harmonise with the light points. It is worth to remember that the upper, ceiling light, described as a general or basic lighting, evenly diffused and ensuring appropriate vision in each zone of the room, plays a fundamental role in the interior. Depending on the height of the interior and the type of used false ceiling, sources of light may be fixed in casings built in the ceiling or right below it, adhering to its surface. If the room is high enough, hanging light may be used. Lamps built in the ceiling give good light and do not disturb the style of the interior.

Using cassette ceilings bring good results in case of offices, medical offices, schools and other public buildings. These types of solutions are characterized by easy assembly, they are constructed by filling the space between elements of load bearing construction with modules in form of cassettes. Frequently, the used fillings have a regular shape, usually squares with 60cm side, rectangular and other shapes, produced according to individual design, are less frequently met. Ceilings of this type are available in a wide scope of colours, smooth or textured, as complete elements, as well as perforated, coloured according to certain proportions of hues (RAL, NCS) or white, to be painted. Perforated cassettes have holes, thanks to which the ceilings absorb sound better.

Ceiling panels are made of various materials, usually of mineral wool with different additions, individually prepared glass wool, pressed hard wood shavings and others. By combining cassettes of diverse features, textures and colours, it is possible to compose interesting ceiling systems. The diversity allows obtaining decorative results and creating interesting interiors.

The possibility of their easy modification is a characteristic feature of cassette ceilings. Depending on the connecting system and shape of profiles, individual elements may be fixed permanently or adjusted to taking out, enabling to arbitrary change of their layout. Size of lamps fixed in cassette ceilings is adjusted to singular module. Their layout may be also adjusted to needs. In case of changes in functional layout of the interior it is possible to adjust the light without the need to modify the installation.
