High Volume Low Speed Fans

High volume, low speed fans reduce utility costs, increase comfort

  • High volume fans help relieve the highs and lows of temperature ranges in large, open buildings by destratifying temperature zones
  • Energy efficient and quiet
  • Long 18-24′ blades move large volumes of air with very little draft
  • Slow speed reduces total energy cost for heating/cooling large areas

Industrial Ceiling Fans Big Warehouse HVLS Fans

Industrial ceiling fans provide superior ventilation capabilities. They continuously mix incoming fresh air with stale air, thus minimizing the total amount of ventilation required to achieve adequate air quality. No other fan, system, or ventilation technology does this better.

  • When used as a stand-alone cooling system, they can reduce the temperature to yield an effective cooling of up to 8° F less within the fan’s coverage area (up to 20,000 square feet per 24′ fan)
  • When used in conjunction with an air conditioning system, its slow and steady air flow can reduce or eliminate the need for costly and efficiency-reducing A/C duct work
  • Effective for shipping docks, and other areas with opening doors and bays
  • During heating seasons, HVLS technology de-stratifies uneven temperatures that occur at each level throughout the facility — forcing unused heated air from the ceiling down to floor where it can have a positive impact on employees. This heat differential can be in excess of 15° F from ceiling to floor, enabling significant cost savings when thermostat levels are reduced
  • One HVLS fan consumes about the same electricity as one high-speed alley fan but moves 12 times the amount the air
  • It costs about a nickel an hour to operate
  • Better ventilation reduces spoilage due to pent-up moisture pockets or humidity
  • Quiet and non-disruptive operation

Why 5-Blade Fans are Superior to Outmoded 10-Blade Fans

These HVLS fans utilize only 5 blades, rather than the outdated industry standard 10 blades. After extensive studies, this design creates more air, is lighter, and puts less. These fans can produce more air flow with 5 than competitive fans can at ten. Using the same amount of power, these fans can run faster and more efficiently. It’s 46% lighter, pushes 10% more air, and lasts twice as long than its predecessors.

Benefits with or without air conditioning

When it’s hot in facilities without A/C, slowly moving air breaks up the moisture-saturated boundary layer surrounding the body, accelerating evaporation to produce a cooling effect. When used in conjunction with air conditioning or evaporation cooling systems, HVLS Fans can efficiently circulate cooled air throughout the structure.

During the cold months the basic problem is air temperature stratification. Simply put, this means since heated air rises, it gets caught in the ceiling and can typically yield a significant temperature differential from that found on the floor.

De-stratify heat levels to effectively heat or cool large spaces

HVLS fan technology circulates this trapped heat, continually forcing it to circulate down and throughout the structure. This provides a more even distribution of heat from top to bottom — especially important when employees are working at different levels within a generally open structure. Furthermore, because of advanced technology, there’s never a chilling breeze — air movement is imperceptible.
