Plain ceiling

There are two ways to place a plain ceiling:

A. Automatically using the Ceiling dialog box.

Figure 1: ceiling alternatives.

  1. Click the Ceiling settings button in the Ceilings field on the Wall drawing tab.
  2. The Ceiling dialog box appears (see Figure 2).
  3. Select the Show ceiling checkbox. With the option Extend ceiling you decide how far out from the furthest point on your drawing the ceiling should extend. You can also enter the Ceiling height here.

B. Manually by selecting the Plain ceiling component from the Wall drawing tab (see Figure 3).

  1. Select the Plain ceiling component under Ceiling .
  2. Move the ceiling (in the form of a blue rectangle) into the drawing area. To place a ceiling that is the same size as the room, move the mouse pointer to the point of the intersection for the walls (see Figure 4), and click to begin positioning.

  1. In the input box that appears, enter the desired values for width and depth (corresponds to the length of the walls) and confirm this by pressing the Enter key or clicking. A faster way of doing this is to let the ceiling components automatically adjust their sizes according to the walls, without entering the values. First, move the mouse pointer horizontally towards the edge of the first wall and click. Now do the same thing at the end of the vertical wall (see Figure 5).

Inclined ceiling

  1. Select either Divided ceiling right or Divided ceiling left under Ceiling on the Wall drawing tab (see Figure 1).
  2. Move the ceiling (in the form of a blue rectangle) into the drawing area. To place a ceiling thats the same size as the room, move the mouse pointer to the point of intersection for the walls and click to begin positioning.
